Dr Abimbola Fadipe was born in England to Nigerian parents. She had her early education in the UK before going to Medical School in Nigeria. Her exposure to a diverse cultural population has led to an in-depth understanding of presentations of distress in Older People.
Dr Fadipe is a qualified medical doctor. She is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and was nominated as the Best Advance trainee in Psychiatry in 2009. She holds a Masters in Psychiatric Research from the University College London and Postgraduate Certificate in Management from Lees University Business School.
Dr Fadipe teaches Old Age Psychiatry at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels to students at Kings College, Guys and St Thomas’s medical School and the Guy’s postgraduate psychiatry rotation. She has a keen interest in the development of Clinical leadership in doctors.
Dr Fadipe is an expert in the Psychiatry of Older people, with a special interest in Dementia and cognitive disorders. She has special expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of Dementia. She has had a number of years experience in treating functional and organic illnesses in Older People.
Dr Fadipe holds a consultant post in the NHS. She has trained and worked in different areas in London. She adopts a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Dr Fadipe offers care which is holistic and person-centred.
