Prof. Dr Deepak Ravindran

MD, FRCA, FFPMRCA, FIPP, DIpBSLM, CMgr(CMI)
Consultant in Pain and Lifestyle Medicine

Prof. Dr. Ravindran is a Consultant in Pain Medicine with additional board qualifications in lifestyle medicine and MSK medicine, making him one of the few specialists with this triple qualification in the South East of England. With over 20 years of specialist experience, Prof. Dr. Deepak Ravindran is a multi-award-winning consultant who firmly believes that pain conditions should be treated as early as possible, with the appropriate use of multidisciplinary techniques to overcome pain and improve patient quality of life.

He offers interventions, where appropriate, for all kinds of persistent pain, such as fibromyalgia, sciatica, neuropathic pain, back and neck pain, and other forms of persistent MSK pain at Berkshire Pain Clinic. At The London Psychiatry Centre, we recognise that chronic pain, mental health, and trauma are deeply interconnected. Prof. Dr. Ravindran is now partnering with The London Psychiatry Centre, to bring an integrative pain medicine and lifestyle medicine approach that complements our expertise in neuromodulation, including rTMS.

Together, we offer a personalised, whole-person model of care for patients with fibromyalgia, migraine, and selected neuropathic pain conditions. We combine treatments such as rTMS with trauma-informed consultations, nervous system regulation, sleep and stress optimisation, movement confidence, and long-term recovery planning.

Prof. Dr Ravindran completed his undergraduate training from JIPMER, India, and his postgraduate training from Oxford. He completed his Pain Fellowship at UCL, London and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH).

He adopts a trauma informed ‘upstreamist’ approach to pain practice and has been instrumental in setting up the award-winning NHS community pain service (IPASS), and the Berkshire Long COVID Integrated Service (BLIS). He has moved to support primary care, rolling out innovative sustainable delivery models like group consultations and lifestyle medicine from August 2024.

He is an active physician researcher and holds an honorary Professor role at Teesside University and is a senior visiting fellow at the University of Reading.

He is the author of the Amazon bestseller “Pain Free Mindset”. As a passionate educator, he ensures that all patients and their families fully understand their diagnosis and rehabilitation plans. You can view further information through his YouTube channel.
